The Evaluation Hub works by asking community members, stakeholders and project teams a series of 20 standardised questions that have been tested and reviewed by independent experts.
From providing a snapshot on your projects strengths and weaknesses to giving you greater insight into the views of both the project team and the participants, the Evaluation Hub improves industry performance by identifying and articulating lessons learned and achievements.

Using a series of heatscales, the Evaluation Hub avoids providing any single rating to a project. Based on years of research, the system has been designed to provide information to in-house practitioners and consultants to use in their own work.

It begins with all participants (community members, stakeholders and project teams) answering the same set of 20 standardised questions. By using standardised questions, the Evaluation Hub provides a structured way of assessing engagement, allowing for continuous improvement.
Most of the questions are based on a 10-point scale with some allowing for open-text responses. This is the Standard Level and is perfect for those involved in a one-off project. the Evaluation Hub offers two other levels which allow you to add additional questions which may be selected from a ready made list or your own.
These questions were developed through a lot of hard work and reflection with the Evaluation Hub engineers spending months and months reviewing academic research and large-scale evaluation projects as well as asking some of the best and brightest minds in the industry.
We’ll continue to revise these questions. Then we’ll keep refining and refining.
The Evaluation Hub was developed with an appreciation of the time constraints faced by engagement practitioners. With just four simple steps you can establish your project evaluation survey using questions drawn from already prepared sources.

Premium clients can add additional questions from either a set of suggested questions or own of their own and you can either upload your database to our secure servers or work from a private weblink.
Established in 2016 by leading communications and engagement practitioner Amanda Newbery, the Evaluation Hub is a public participation advisory firm that works closely with key stakeholders to advance and extend public participation through the use of standardised benchmarks that meet the global quality assurance standards.
Over the next few months, an advisory group of experts will be established to guide the evolution of the Evaluation Hub. The advisory group will work closely with Amanda to ensure the Evaluation Hub is turned into a finished service.
Amanda will exclude herself from seeing results from any project, unless requested by an account holder, and will instead have the genuine joy of analysing aggregate results across the industry.

Having worked extensively in the community engagement sector across Australia and New Zealand, Rob Gravestocks is The Engagement Hub’s Practitioner.
Rob has an intimate knowledge of the community and stakeholder engagement sector, having spent three years leading training for International Association for Public Participation (IAP2).
He also has a background in communications, marketing and branding and has managed campaign development and production of materials, brands and digital platforms.
An accomplished trainer and capacity builder across organisations, Rob’s experience includes roles as a guest lecturer and tutor at the University of Sydney, project managing the development of new industry training programs at IAP2, marketing training programs with the Australian Company Directors Association (AICD), and as a deliverer of training programs in engagement and communication.
His industry experience includes sustainability, higher education, corporate governance, professional services and local and state government.
